By making a booking with us, you are agreeing to comply with and be bound by these terms and conditions and all applicable laws and regulations.
Booking a tour
You can book all of our tours on our website www.hofnlocalguide.is, email@example.com and by SMS on our phone +354 864 4952. Use the online booking system on our website to book your tour, thereafter you will receive a confirmation e-mail. Please read thoroughly through e-mail to make sure the dates and other data you entered in the booking form is correct. The confirmation e-mail contains important information, such as your booking number for the tour and directions and location map. Make sure you print this out or download on your phone to bring to the tour. (You need to print out the email, have it on your phone or have your booking number, we will check it out before we start the tour).
Weather and safety
Höfn-Local Guide offers outdoor activity tours in a country with ever changing weather, it actually changes so fast that Icelanders joke about it. They advise their guests who don't like current weather conditions to wait for five minuets and it must likely have changed then! But our clients safety is not a joke and our number one priority is their, and our guides safety. So please read further on.
All guides from Höfn-Local Guide have experience and knowledge of the tour they manage as well as a certified First Aid licence. Our guides have the authority to change and/or cancel tours for safety reasons. Our guides evaluate the weather forecast and conditions and assess the situation. They base their assessment on their knowledge and experience of the area. Though our tours are moderate it is important that you dress according to weather.
A cancelation or change can apply when the weather changes for the worse, if the weather forecast for the day is bad or if we have a natural situation that causes cancellation. In case Höfn-Local Guide needs to cancel their tours due to unfavourable weather conditions or change the tour because of an unforeseen condition, and you are not able to reschedule, you will receive a full refund (note: it might be some transaction cost that will not be refunded).
All cancellations of tours by our customers must go through our office by email to firstname.lastname@example.org
If cancelled over 24 hours before your trip you will get full refund (note: it might be some transaction cost that will not be refunded).
If you cancel less than 24 hours’ full amount will be charged. In case of no show, full amount will be charged.
We make no exceptions to our cancellation policy for any reason, including personal or medical, weather or other forces of nature, acts of God, terrorism, civil unrest, strikes, international or internal flight cancellations, or any other reason beyond our control. We strongly recommend you purchase trip cancellation or interruption insurance to protect yourself from unexpected circumstances before or during your trip.
We are not responsible for expenses incurred in preparation for or as a consequence of any cancelled trips, such as airline tickets. We recommend confirming your trip with us before making rail/air arrangements that might be non-refundable.
Health information of clients
To secure everyone's safety it is very important for our guides to know about any underlying diseases or conditions that could affect a client's ability to participate in our tours. Be sure to make the appropriate arrangements do to your health condition (medicine etc.) and to let your guide know of any medical conditions and allergy you might have so he can respond appropriately in case of medical emergency.
All our activities are outdoor; weather plays a big part in these activities. It is really important that all participants have clothes that fits the weather.
All our tours that are undertaken are the responsibility of the participants. Höfn - Local Guide does not assume any responsibility for accidents which are caused by its customers or can be traced to their own actions.
Neither we, nor our directors, owners, employees, contractors and agents shall be responsible or liable for, and the traveler forever and unconditionally releases all of the foregoing persons and entities from and in respect of any personal injury, death, property damage, inconvenience, loss of time, delays, or any other loss or damage, direct or indirect, which the traveler or other persons accompanying the traveler or their property may suffer or sustain as a result of our trips.
